"We were puttering around outside yesterday. The sun was playing with the clouds, so sometimes it was bright and sometimes it was not. It was a half and half kinda day."
"That's a hapa day, Tutu. Mama and Daddy say I'm hapa and they are hapas, too." This little mo'o made connections quickly. I laughed and nodded my head, amazed at how things came together for that little one.
"While we were outside some neighbors walked passed us on the gravel road. The woman asked, 'Is that your's?' pointing at our wagon.' 'Yes,' we both nodded at them. 'Nice place, nice view,' the woman said. Tutu Pete said, 'We like the tree.' I added, 'The one tree on the campground.' The woman said, 'You're surrounded by trees.' She had a good point! They had a small dog with them, and the woman was putting the poop-bag into the garbage can. Tutu Pete started chatting again and made a joke."
The Mo'o laughed, "I know Tutu Pete loves jokes. He's a joker!!"
"You ain't just a whistl'n Dixie. Tutu man told the woman with the poop bag, 'Oh that will be 5 dollars.'
"Ha? she said. Yeah, the signs says $5.00." That confused the two neighbors for ... about ten seconds. The sign for $5.00 was for people dumping their big poopers from their trailers. But then they got that Tutu Pete was 'pulling a fast one' ... Everybody laughed."
The Mo'o liked how the two Tutus said things, and used words she didn't hear other people say. Like 'whistl'n Dixie' ... Tutu Moki loved loved loved to whistle. Sometime Tutu Moki would whistle some dixie. 'Pulling a fast one' that must mean something about how Tutu Pete likes to do things really quick. Like magic tricks. The Mo'o loved magic tricks.
"Tutu?" The Mo'o asked.
"Yes honey."
"What's the neighbors names. And the dog what is her name?"
"Hmmmm. Good question. I don't know honey. They have never stopped to talk with us before."
"Maybe, next time you can talk some more and make friends."
What a good idea.
